Children of God

1 John 3 reveals the profound identity given to those who belong to Christ: we are children of God, loved by the Father and being transformed into the likeness of Jesus. John draws a distinction between struggling with sin and making peace with it, reminding us that the patterns we practice shape who we become. God’s children are called to abide in Christ, bring sin into the light, and practice righteousness as His life works within us. This identity also becomes visible in how we love one another, following Jesus’ example by moving beyond words and choosing sacrificial, tangible love “in deed and in truth.”
